Daria Semenova, 1995. Born in Sergiev Posad (Moscow region).

In her artistic practice, she explores the processes of distortion and transformation, resorting to methods based on the use of various techniques associated with chemical reactions.

Multimedian artist. Works with painting, sculpture, installation, analog printing of photographic images. Since 2021, she has been a member and co-founder of the art collective DRUSBA.

My field of artistic research is daydreaming. In my case, the de-streaming process takes on the function of a kind of "filter" for any information I interact with.

Due to my tendency to obsessive daydreams, I feel like I'm in a metaphorical limbo — an intermediate space between everyday tasks and vivid images that my imagination constantly generates. During daydreaming, I (in my thoughts) turn to another reality, while simultaneously engaging in the usual routine.

So, in my work devoted to everyday activities, images based on personal reflections on mythology, popular culture, history, religion, evolutionary predictions and dreams are embedded.

In my art, I strive to create a symbiosis between the mundane, which serves as a foundation for me, and images from my inner world. These two elements do not conflict, but rather complement each other, blurring the boundaries between the real and the fictional.

To achieve this symbiosis (reality + the world of illusions), it is important for me to experiment with materials and their chemical properties.

These experiments allow me to reflect the rapid transition of my thoughts about the real world into a fantasy about the mythical world.
